Out Of Area TV Broadcasting Service

Lithgow Communications can undertake the installation of the Optus Aurora Equipment required for remote area TV. The Remote Area Broadcasting Service (RABS) is available to people living in country areas or have a poor terrestrial signal (Normal TV Antenna) reception area (television black spot areas).
Optus Aurora satellite broadcast serices are is funded by Australian Government and broadcast by Optus on the C1 satellite. The Aurora service provides viewers in remote areas of Australia with crystal clear satellite digital TV without the need for a traditional antenna. The Optus C1 satellite offers Australia wide reception using an 85-90cm satellite dish. As remote areas of Australia do not have television coverage via TV transmitter towers, satellite broadcast is the best solution for televison reception.
The service is known as 'free to view' in that there are no subscription charges but the channels are scrambled. In order to de-scramble the channels, the viewer must purchase an official Aurora smartcard from a satellite supplier then contact Aurora to activate ABC and SBS. Commercial television channels Imparja and Seven Central are available if you are unable to receive normal terestrial transmissions).
